If you’re reading this then you’ve probably heard it once in your life.
Search engine optimization is simply everything you go through to help your website rank on google, or any search engine.
Seems so simple? Right? WRONG!
Search engine optimization is far from simple, I can say this from experience.
Especially if you’re a beginner, it can be so hard to master SEO.
Getting your fresh website to rank on Google without any network or backlink building is HELL.
But I’m here to help you. And help you learn everything about how to do search engine optimization.
Search engine optimization isn’t simply adding keywords to your content and crossing your fingers.
Actually, keywords are only 20% to 30% of SEO.
To rank on Google and be noticed more is about building your website’s credibility.
Search engine optimization helps you in two things :
It helps you be more visible.
It helps you find your target readers with keywords.
So it helps you immensely in building an audience and growing your email list, and it certainly gives a BIG boost for your traffic.
How to do search engine optimization.
There a lot of tools out there to help you on this journey.
And I will be discussing them very soon to help you do search engine optimization the right way.
But for now, I’ll try to wrap everything for you so as not to bore you to death! 😉
So now, let’s understand search engines algorithms, to ensure the best experience for their users, search engines base their ranking on two things :
The amount and how you used keywords/keyphrases throughout your post.
How many links actually send back to your website to assess your website’s credibility.
That’s why all new websites actually get trapped in Google’s sandbox!
If you’re not familiar with the term, it’s just that Google puts you in the sandbox with all other new bloggers so as to find out who will continue to blog and not deceive readers, and who will give up quickly.
That’s kind of easy since most bloggers give up after a few months with no result.
But worry not my fellow bloggers, that is all a test!
Now up to key steps on how to search optimization.
You need to optimize your website (On-site optimization)
In-depth research of keywords
Build backlinks for your website
On-site optimization is the first step of how to do search engine optimization.
What does it mean right? Well, it means ensuring the best user experience.
How is that possible?
You can assure a great user experience by checking the speed, internal links, readability, and so on.
Search engines hate slow websites, if it slow to charge, then you really need to fix that.
The human’s attention span became less than 8s, a slow charging website wouldn’t certainly be on your side.
And it certainly wouldn’t be pleasant user experience.
Internal links are a great way to help your reader stay on your website a little bit longer.
Bringing a user isn’t enough, making him stay is what’s important!
Your content must be targeting a niche or two, so adding internal links shouldn’t be that hard.
Each time you write a topic just check previous topics similar to it and insert them, it’ll help Google trust you more.
It will also help your reader stay longer on your website and keep moving from a post to a post until they become loyal.
Now that most users became addicted to their phones, assuring your website is optimized on laptops isn’t enough anymore.
Now mobiles entered the chat as well.
You should check every page for mobile optimization, if not! It won’t be indexed by Google.
It should be mobile friendly, the texts should be clear, offer a great readability experience and you’ll help your website to be optimized.
In-depth keyword research.
If you’ve heard of SEO then you’ve probably heard that the right way of how to do search engine optimization is searching for a keyword.
Now that that is true, it’s not enough.
If you’re just a beginner, you can’t compete with the large fishes out there in the sea.
Those reputable and credible websites, no matter what keyword they choose, they’ll probably always rank first because Google trusts them that much.
If you’re just a beginner, then you should search for longtail keywords.
Longtail keywords mean = a number of words + keyword that you have in mind.
SEO is a vague keyword, a general one, everyone would be fighting for it.
Plus it has big research volume so all the sharks are fighting for number 1.
Search engine optimization made simple is a longtail keyword that doesn’t have a lot of competition, so you can simply rank first in it as a beginner.
The more you grow as a website and the longer you are on the web, the better Google trust you.
And so, in the future, you’ll be able to fight for number one as well for SEO.
It’s all about patience, once you think of a topic, search for the keyword you want, insert it wisely and not robotically throughout your website.
And you’ll certainly see some results!
As bonus information, even your images should include keywords in their meta description!
So optimize your images as well!
So now that you finally got your A game and I mean, you optimized your website, used keyword research.
It’s time to think about backlinks, as I’ve said before, Google trusts websites with authority.
So the more your website has backlinks from trusted websites, the more it trusts you!
On the web, there are a lot and I mean A LOT of spammy websites, if they link back to you then your website will look spammy as well.
If you hang out with the popular squad then you’re popular as well, if you don’t then you’re not!
That’s the same here, so how can you build backlinks that are honest and trustworthy?
I’ll reveal my favorite way, which is guest blogging.
Guest blogging helps you write content on other websites and get a link that sends back to your website.
Now the more you guest blog the more you’ll be able to build links and the more your website will look trustworthy.
And one thing, NEVER and I mean NEVER buy links.
God knows how many people out there promise you to give you backlinks to your website if you pay this or that!
Well, don’t! They’re spammy, and they’ll drive you to rock bottom with them.
So now you learned how to do search engine optimization properly, then what are you waiting for?
Go rank on Google! But before that.
